“CCC” is dedicated to assist families of chronically ill children. The burdens which befall families with chronically ill children go beyond just the emotional devastation. Many times a two income family has to begin to depend on one income because an adult needs to be able to care for the ill child at all times. Children who are chronically ill may need a variety of sophisticated medical equipment in order to survive. This equipment may include ventilators, apnea monitors, oxygen, and pulse oximeters. Their bedrooms can be transformed into virtual intensive care units. Typically, commercial health insurance or state health programs will cover the cost of this equipment. However, having this type of equipment presents unique issues. Electrical bills can mount to $2000 a month.

All of the medical equipment running in a small room gives off a tremendous amount of heat, so when no central air conditioning is available a window unit must be installed, an additional expense.

Certain disposable items needed by chronically ill children are not covered by insurance or state health plans. For example, many neonatologists recommend formula to some babies that costs $1000 per month. Many families can not afford these additional costs. CCC helps to alleviate some of the financial burdens these families face.
